I feel ashamed when I read things like this. One the one hand we have people asking for a ban on cheerleaders in the IPL saying it hurts the sentiments of Indian people because a woman is equated to a godess and is virtuous and all that. But then we have cases like this where there is absolutely no regard for woman. I think we are the biggest hypocrites in the world...

I've been planning on buying a new laptop. My current lappy, Vaio, has run out of steam. It's a Core Duo running on 1.5GB of RAM and XP. I switched to Ubuntu for a few days and was happy with it. I'm alternating between Ubuntu and XP now. I'm really sick and tired of windows. The things I'm looking for in a laptop are: - weight factor, something lightweight, which would mean a smaller screen compared to the 15.4" widescreen I have now, - Horsepower...for multiple applications, faster boot up times and for my photoshop work and other multimedia applications which would require good processing power -operating system...now this is the tough part...i ve used XP for a long time. It's served me well...but I really don't think I want to go in for vista specially after hearing all the horror stories from my friends. I think its time to go for the Leopard, but my only concern is the availabilty of software(read free/pirated software:) ) -not really concerned about storage..i already have 250GB of external hdd space -and my budget would be somewhere around 1500$ I've kind of narrowed down to 3 brands...Dell XPS(comes with vista only), Thinkpad X61(this one has a Win XP option) and Macbook What do you guys think?

When you see the flowers blossoming, birds chirping early morning, and kids out playing in the park, you know know that spring is here. The seasons are so dramatic. The trees change with the season. I saw fall colors for the first time, and it was really nice. Then the winter set in. The trees wore a depressed look with no leaves. Occassionally when it snowed quite a bit and the trees were covered with snow, it was nice to look at, but otherwise it was depressing look. Now, with the spring having arrived it seems like the trees have come back to life. I'm guessing the Spring season holds a lot of significance to people here like how the monsoon is to us in India.

I love these shoes. My first Air Jordan's. I always wanted to buy one but you never get these in India. So when I saw them I couldn't resist, and it's Jordan's shoe line (one of my favorite sporting heroes). The best part though is I paid only 30$ for them :D They sell for 90$ or so... This was in a way my b'day gift as I bought it with what my aunt had given me for my B'day. I turned 23 this year, and Jordan's number was 23, so I'll kinda remember this one for a long time, plus it was my first B'day here too.
